I opened my computer, looked at the work I had done, and what I still needed to do. I decided to try and finish my article called "Punishment", which covers the topics of Major and Minor violations, and how to stay out of trouble! This was a very hard part to write... because I had to make sure I always stayed in the spirit of supporting Proctor's rules. For instance I wanted to tell kids to not smoke in dorms, because that can result in an automatic dismissal... but by saying that was I saying it would be okay to smoke not in dorms? Of course not, but someone might take it that way and so all things must be considered in this manner.
Once I had gotten a rough draft together, I sent it to Chuck so he could also make sure it sounded okay. After assembly I wanted to find a place quieter than the Wise so that I could continue writing without disturbance. I found myself sitting in the room outside the Into to Lit classroom (Nancy Schoeller's old office). I started (and finished) a long article called "Grades, Points, And Everything In Between." I talked about the difference between letter grade and effort grades, how to get points, what points are, what punishments can result from points, etc...
By the time I finished all of that it was time for lunch. I tried out another fruit juice drink recommended to me by a student. I am starting to realize that no matter what combination of juices you put together, they all kinda taste the same....
After lunch I did a few more edits on the two pieces I worked on today, then headed off to rehearsal. Day one of week two complete!
Canon out.
Perhaps you will include photos of the secret place called "Chuck's Corner?"
ReplyDeleteYour work will be insightful for those coming to PA next year, and I hope that you will infuse it with the humor and care you always show as a student. Keep up your energy! Two weeks to go.
Nice Job Canon.
